7-3-1242. Role of manager. (1) The manager is the chief executive officer of the municipality. (2) The manager is responsible to the commission for the proper administration of the affairs of the municipality placed in the manager's charge, and the manager shall appoint all officers and employees in the administrative service of the municipality, except as otherwise provided in part 13 or this part. The manager may authorize the head of a department or office responsible to the manager to appoint subordinates in that department or office. History: En. Secs. 32, 33, Ch. 121, L. 1923; re-en.
