80-8-402. Statement of policy. The legislature finds and declares that: (1) the exposure of children to pesticides applied in and around schools can pose a potentially acute or chronic toxicological hazard to their health; (2) infants and children can be especially vulnerable to pesticides, especially if pesticides are not properly applied or used; (3) schools need to adopt pest management programs that minimize exposure of school children to pesticides and provide for alternative pest control methods; and (4) the department shall prepare and distribute to each Montana school district a model integrated pest and pesticide management safety program that satisfies the provisions of this section.
