Ask AI about this
1. Any lien may be assigned in the same manner as any other chose in action after it has been perfected by recording. 2. An assignment of a lien before recording will not be effective until written notice of the assignment has been given to the owner by the assignee. The notice will be sufficient if delivered in person or mailed by certified mail to the owner. After such notice, the assignee may perfect the lien in the assignee’s own name. 3. One or more lien claimants of any class may assign their notices of lien by written assignment, signed by each assignor, to any other person or lien claimant of any class, and the assignee may commence and prosecute the action upon all of the notices of lien in the assignee’s own name or in the name of the original lien claimant. 4. In the event that a claim for which a lien may be filed is assigned before it is perfected, such assignment does not discharge or defeat the right to perfect the lien, if the lien is reassigned to the lien claimant, and thereafter the lien is timely perfected.
