Unless an Indian child’s parent objects, the appropriate agency shall provide assistance with enrolling an Indian child within the jurisdiction of the court in a tribe with which the child is eligible for enrollment. 2. In any child custody proceeding involving an Indian child, if the appropriate agency reasonably believes that the Indian child is eligible for enrollment in a tribe, the agency shall notify the Indian child’s parents of their right to object to the agency’s assistance under subsection 1. The provision of notice pursuant to this subsection is deemed to be satisfied by sending the notice to the last known mailing address of each of the Indian child’s parents.
