Ask AI about this
1. Before the court approves the resignation of a guardian of the estate and discharges the guardian, the court shall require the guardian to submit, on the date set for the hearing, an accounting of the estate through the end of the term. 2. If the guardian fails to file such an accounting, the court may impose sanctions upon the guardian. 3. If an estate has more than one guardian, the court may accept the resignation of one of the guardians if the remaining guardian or guardians are qualified to act alone. The court may waive the requirement of filing the accounting if the remaining guardian or guardians are: (a) Required to file the annual accounting, if applicable; and (b) Responsible for any discrepancies in the accounting. 4. Upon approval of the accounting, if any is required, and appointment of a successor guardian, the court may approve the resignation of a guardian and order the discharge of his or her duties.
