'Service retirement allowance' means monthly payments from the Judicial Retirement Fund paid to a retired justice of the Supreme Court, judge of the Court of Appeals, district judge, justice of the peace or municipal judge pursuant to the Judicial Retirement Plan for the remainder of his or her life.
