1. An applicant who is subject to the provisions of this chapter may request a hearing before a hearing officer on any matter within the hearing officer’s authority. The compensation officer shall provide with his or her decision the necessary information for requesting such a hearing. 2. An applicant aggrieved by a compensation officer’s decision may appeal the decision by filing a request for a hearing before a hearing officer. Such a request must be filed within 15 days after the decision was mailed by the Director or compensation officer. 3. Failure to file a request for a hearing within the period specified in subsection 2 may be excused if the applicant shows by a preponderance of the evidence that the applicant did not receive the notice of the decision and the information necessary to request a hearing. 4. The applicant shall notify the compensation officer and the hearing officer in writing of a change of address within a reasonable time after that change. (Added to NRS by 1991, 763; A 2017, 128)
