1. If a legislative subpoena is properly issued to and served on a person, the person shall not, without a reason recognized by law: (a) Neglect or refuse to comply with the provisions of the legislative subpoena; (b) Neglect or refuse to be sworn or to affirm before testifying or neglect or refuse to testify as to any relevant matter; or (c) Neglect or refuse to produce any relevant documentary evidence in the possession or under the control of the person. 2. In addition to any other remedies or penalties provided by law, a person who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
