1. The Chair of the Interim Finance Committee may, not later than January 1, 2026, and every 4 years thereafter, request that, in addition to the entities set forth in subsection 1 of NRS 218G.600, the Legislative Auditor conduct a performance audit of up to three additional school districts selected by the Chair. Within the limits of legislative appropriations, the Legislative Auditor shall conduct each performance audit requested by the Chair pursuant to this section. 2. The Legislative Auditor shall, on or before September 1, 2030, and every 4 years thereafter, present a final written report of each audit conducted pursuant to this section during the immediately preceding 4 years to the Legislative Commission. 3. The Legislative Auditor shall present a final written report of each audit conducted pursuant to this section to the Interim Finance Committee, or the appropriate subcommittee of the Interim Finance Committee, as directed by the Chair of the Interim Finance Committee, after the report is presented to the Legislative Commission but in no event later than December 31 of the year in which the final report was presented to the Legislative Commission.
