As used in NRS 228.111 to 228.1118, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. 'Contingent fee contract' or 'contract' means a contract for legal services entered into by or at the request of the Attorney General, pursuant to which: (a) Legal services are provided by an attorney or law firm engaged in the private practice of law to the State of Nevada or any officer, agency or employee in the Executive Department of the State Government; and (b) The fee of the attorney or law firm is payable, in whole or in part, from any money recovered in the matter that is the subject of the contract. 2. 'Matter' means an action or other proceeding involving one or more claims asserted by one or more plaintiffs and presenting common questions of law or fact. 3. 'Retained attorney or law firm' means an attorney or law firm that is a party to a contingent fee contract. (Added to NRS by 2015, 333, 334)
