1. A petition which lacks the required number of signatures may be amended once if the committee files a notice to amend with the county clerk within 2 days after it receives written notice from the county clerk pursuant to NRS 266.023. The committee must file with the county clerk an amended petition containing the additional required signatures within 8 days after it files a notice to amend. An amended petition must comply with the requirements of the petition as originally filed. 2. Within 10 days after the amended petition is filed, the county clerk shall verify the signatures and send a copy of the certificate by registered or certified mail to the committee.
