1. A town board or board of county commissioners may: (a) Make application for and hold any license required to provide television or FM radio broadcast translator signals, or both. (b) Contract with any person, corporation or association to provide the equipment, facilities and services necessary to furnish such broadcast translator signals for a period not to exceed 10 years. (c) Enter into contracts for the purposes of this section that extend beyond the term of office of any member of the board or commission. (d) Levy and collect a tax upon the assessed value of property within an unincorporated town to cover the costs of providing such broadcast translator signals to that town. 2. As used in this section, 'FM radio' means a system of radio broadcasting by means of frequency modulation. (Added to NRS by 1975, 711; A 1995, 1907)
