Ask AI about this
In a county whose population is less than 700,000, those areas, including subdivisions, which are adjacent or contiguous to an unincorporated town whose population is less than 25,000, and which require substantially all of the services described in NRS 269.575, may be annexed by the unincorporated town by ordinance adopted by the town board or the board of county commissioners. The ordinance must contain a provision requiring that the town boundary be surveyed, mapped, platted and so enlarged as to include the area to be annexed. Upon filing of the plat or map of the town, including the area annexed, it constitutes the legal boundary of the town. (Added to NRS by 1979, 279; A 1979, 1333; 1989, 1916; 2011, 1168)
