1. After the filing of an application pursuant to NRS 278A.440 to 278A.470, inclusive, a public hearing on the application shall be held by the city or county, public notice of which shall be given in the manner prescribed by law for hearings on amendments to a zoning ordinance. 2. The city or county may continue the hearing from time to time and may refer the matter to the planning staff for a further report, but the public hearing or hearings shall be concluded within 60 days after the date of the first public hearing unless the landowner consents in writing to an extension of the time within which the hearings shall be concluded.
