A declaration of candidacy must be filed with the appropriate filing officer, during regular office hours, as follows: 1. For United States Senator, Representative in Congress, statewide offices, State Senators, Assemblymen and Assemblywomen to be elected from districts comprising more than one county, and all other offices whose districts comprise more than one county, with the Secretary of State. 2. For Representative in Congress and district offices voted for wholly within one county, State Senators, Assemblymen and Assemblywomen to be elected from districts comprising but one or part of one county, county and township officers, with the county clerk.
