1. The election board officer who delivers the package containing the election returns must be paid the amount expended by the officer in paying the postage on the package, and 15 cents per mile for going to and 15 cents per mile for returning from the post office or the office of the county or city clerk, in the same manner and out of the same fund as other election expenses are paid. 2. No mileage may be paid unless the total distance necessarily traveled in going and returning is greater than 2 miles. (Added to NRS by 1963, 1382; A 1987, 353)
