1. Each member of the State Board of Education is entitled to receive compensation of not more than $80 per day, as fixed by the State Board, for attending each meeting of the State Board, not to exceed 12 meetings in any calendar year. 2. While engaged in the business of the State Board, each member and employee of the State Board is entitled to receive the per diem allowance and travel expenses provided for state officers and employees generally. 3. Claims for compensation and expenses must be approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Examiners, and must be paid from money provided by direct legislative appropriation from the State General Fund as other claims against the State are paid.
