The board of trustees of a school district, governing body of a charter school, governing body of a university school for profoundly gifted pupils or the independent contractor of a school district, charter school or university school for profoundly gifted pupils shall not enter into an agreement that: (a) Has the effect of suppressing information relating to an investigation concerning a report of suspected abuse or sexual misconduct by a current or former employee. (b) Affects the ability of the school district, charter school, university school for profoundly gifted pupils or independent contractor to report suspected abuse or sexual misconduct to the appropriate authorities.
