1. The Office of State Climatologist is hereby created. 2. The Director of the State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources shall employ as the State Climatologist a person who has received the approval of: (a) The National Climatic Data Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; (b) The Western Regional Director of the National Weather Service; and (c) An officer of the System. 3. The State Climatologist shall: (a) Maintain descriptions of and information on the climate in this state, including the atmospheric conditions and levels of precipitation; and (b) Publish his or her findings concerning the climate in this state at least quarterly.
