Upon petition by a party: (a) The court shall give preference in setting a date for the trial of an action commenced pursuant to NRS 40.600 to 40.695, inclusive; and (b) The court may assign an action commenced pursuant to NRS 40.600 to 40.695, inclusive, to a senior judge. 2.
