1. Subject to the limits provided in paragraph (m) of subsection 1 of NRS 417.090, the Director shall employ a cemetery superintendent to operate and maintain each veterans’ cemetery. 2. The cemetery superintendent shall, if a veteran does not indicate by testamentary instrument that the veteran desires to have the area immediately above and surrounding the interred remains of the veteran landscaped with xeriscaping, or if an application for interment submitted pursuant to NRS 417.210 does not indicate that the veteran desires to have the area immediately above and surrounding the interred remains of the veteran landscaped with xeriscaping, ensure that the area immediately above and surrounding the interred remains of the veteran in the veterans’ cemetery is landscaped with natural grass.
