1. The Department may apply to the Secretary of Health and Human Services for a waiver of federal law or amendment to the State Plan for Medicaid that authorizes the Department to receive federal funding to provide increased rates of reimbursement under the State Plan for rural emergency hospital services provided by a rural emergency hospital. The Department shall fully cooperate in good faith with the Federal Government during the application process to satisfy the requirements of the Federal Government for obtaining a waiver or amendment pursuant to this section. 2. As used in this section: (a) 'Rural emergency hospital' has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 449.0178. (b) 'Rural emergency hospital services' has the meaning ascribed to it in 42 U.S.C. § 1395x(kkk). (Added to NRS by 2023, 2938)
