A child care facility shall, to the extent authorized by federal law, give priority in admission to a child whose application for admission includes official documentation from the Federal Government that his or her: 1. Parent or guardian is currently serving on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States; 2. Parent was killed or died as a direct result of injuries received while serving honorably on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States; or 3. Parent was reported as a prisoner of war or missing in action while serving honorably on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and is currently or has, within 180 days before the date on which the application for admission of the child is submitted, been a prisoner of war or missing in action under such circumstances.
