1. Upon the death of a consumer, any known relatives or friends of the consumer shall be notified immediately of the fact of death. 2. The Administrator or the Administrator’s designee shall cause a decent burial to be provided for the consumer outside division facility grounds. The Administrator or the designee may enter into a contract with any person or persons, including governmental agencies or other instrumentalities, as the Administrator or the designee deems proper, for a decent burial. Where there are known relatives, and they are financially able, the cost of burial shall be borne by the relatives. Where there are no known relatives, the cost of burial shall be a charge against the State of Nevada, but the cost thereof shall not exceed the amount charged for the burial of indigents in the county in which the burial takes place. 3. When a consumer has income from a pension payable through a division facility, and has no guardian, the Division may obligate operating funds for funeral expenses in the amount due under the pension benefits.
