1. Each hospital licensed to operate in this state shall form a committee to ensure the quality of care provided by the hospital. The committee must be composed of, but is not limited to, physicians and nurses. 2. Each committee formed pursuant to subsection 1 must meet the requirements for programs or plans for ensuring the quality of care specified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations or by the Federal Government pursuant to Title XIX of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 1396 et seq.).
