1. The board of county commissioners of any county whose population is less than 100,000 may contract with any nonprofit corporation to which a public hospital has been conveyed or leased, for the care of indigent patients from the contracting county and the receiving of other persons falling sick or being maimed or injured within the contracting county. The contract must be consistent with the provisions of NRS 439B.300 to 439B.340, inclusive, if applicable. 2. The contracting county may participate in the enlargement or alteration of the hospital.
