The operator of a crematory incurs no liability by refusing to accept or to cremate human remains until the operator receives a court order or other suitable confirmation that a dispute has been settled: (a) If the operator is aware of a dispute concerning cremation of the remains; (b) If the operator has a reasonable basis for questioning any of the representations made by the agent; or (c) For any other lawful reason. 2. If the operator of a crematory is aware of a dispute concerning the release or disposition of cremated human remains, the operator may refuse to release the remains until the dispute has been resolved or the operator receives a court order authorizing the release or disposition of the remains. The operator incurs no liability by such a refusal. (Added to NRS by 1993, 2606)
