1. The Department is hereby designated to act as the state agency for the purposes of federal laws and regulations on hazardous waste, except that the Commission has the exclusive power to adopt regulations pursuant to NRS 459.400 to 459.600, inclusive. 2. The Department may take any action necessary and appropriate to secure the benefits of any federal law relating to hazardous waste. (Added to NRS by 1981, 883)
