1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, the driver of a vehicle shall not drive upon or within any sidewalk area except at a permanent or temporary driveway or alley entrance. A person who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor. 2. The provisions of subsection 1 do not apply to a vehicle that is powered solely by electricity and designed to travel on three wheels when such a vehicle is operated: (a) As an authorized emergency vehicle; (b) By an officer or other authorized employee of a law enforcement agency, as that term is defined in NRS 239C.065, in the course of his or her official duties; or (c) By a security guard, as that term is defined in NRS 648.016, in the course of his or her official duties.
