1. Upon the filing with the Commissioner of a verified complaint against a private professional guardian company, the Commissioner shall investigate the alleged violation of the provisions of this chapter. 2. If the Commissioner determines that a complaint filed pursuant to subsection 1 warrants further action, the Commissioner shall send a copy of the complaint and notice of the date set for an informal hearing to the subject of the complaint and the Attorney General. 3. The Commissioner may require the private professional guardian company that is the subject of a complaint to file a verified answer to the complaint within 10 days after receipt of the complaint unless, for good cause shown, the Commissioner extends the time required for filing an answer for a period not to exceed 60 days. 4. If at the hearing the complaint is not explained to the satisfaction of the Commissioner, the Commissioner may take such action against the private professional guardian company as authorized by the provisions of this chapter.
