After consultation with the Chief of the Youth Parole Bureau, the superintendent of a facility may grant parole to a child if: (a) The child is eligible for parole according to regulations established for that purpose; and (b) Parole will be in the best interests of the child. 2. The superintendent of the facility and the Chief of the Youth Parole Bureau shall set the date of the child’s release on parole not later than 30 days after the superintendent has given the Chief a notice of intent to parole the child. 3. Upon being released on parole, the child is under the supervision of the Chief of the Youth Parole Bureau. (Added to NRS by 2003, 1102)
