1. An applicant for a certificate to practice as a medication aide - certified must submit proof satisfactory to the Board that the applicant: (a) Holds a certificate to practice as a nursing assistant in this State; (b) Has completed at least 1 year of continuous full-time employment as a nursing assistant in a medical facility in this State and is currently employed at a medical facility; (c) Has a high school diploma or its equivalent; (d) Has successfully completed a literacy and reading comprehension screening process approved by the Board; (e) Has successfully completed a training course for medication aides - certified of at least 100 hours that is approved by the Board; (f) Has passed an examination on such subjects as are required by the Board; and (g) Meets such other reasonable requirements as the Board prescribes by regulation. 2. An applicant who is licensed or certified as a medication aide in another state or territory of the United States may be certified in this State by endorsement if the applicant submits proof satisfactory to the Board that the applicant: (a) Holds a certificate to practice as a nursing assistant in another state or territory of the United

The Board shall issue a certificate to practice as a medication aide - certified to each applicant who meets the requirements of this section. (Added to NRS by 2011, 1324)
