1. A physician assistant licensed under the provisions of this chapter who is responding to a need for medical care created by an emergency or disaster, as declared by an applicable governmental entity, may render emergency care that is directly related to the emergency or disaster without the supervision of an osteopathic physician, as required by this chapter. The provisions of this subsection apply only for the duration of the emergency or disaster. 2. An osteopathic physician who supervises a physician assistant who is rendering emergency care that is directly related to an emergency or disaster, as described in subsection 1, shall not be required to meet the requirements set forth in this chapter for such supervision.
