1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2: (a) An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of speech-language pathology must satisfy the academic requirements of an educational program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor organization approved by the Board. (b) An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of audiology must satisfy the academic requirements of an educational program accredited by the: (1) American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor organization approved by the Board; or (2) Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education or its successor organization approved by the Board. 2. An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of audiology or speech-language pathology who receives an education in audiology or speech-language pathology from a foreign school must prove to the satisfaction of the Board that his or her educational program: (a) Is substantially equivalent to the requirements set forth in subsection 1, as applicable; and (b) Is accredited by an accrediting agency approved by the Board.
