1. Upon diagnosing a client as having an opioid use disorder, a clinical social worker shall counsel and provide information to the client concerning evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorders, including, without limitation, medication-assisted treatment. 2. If the client requests medication-assisted treatment, the clinical social worker shall refer the client to a physician, osteopathic physician, physician assistant licensed pursuant to chapter 630 or 633 of NRS, advanced practice registered nurse or pharmacist who is authorized under federal and state law to prescribe an appropriate medication. 3. As used in this section, 'medication-assisted treatment' has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 639.28079. (Added to NRS by 2023, 2369)
