1. A carrier that issues a health benefit plan shall provide coverage for the examination of a person who is pregnant for the discovery of: (a) Chlamydia trachomatis, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and hepatitis C in accordance with NRS 442.013. (b) Syphilis in accordance with NRS 442.010. 2. The coverage required by this section must be provided: (a) Regardless of whether the benefits are provided to the insured by a provider of health care, facility or medical laboratory that participates in the network plan of the carrier; and (b) Without prior authorization. 3. A health benefit plan subject to the provisions of this chapter that is delivered, issued for delivery or renewed on or after July 1, 2021, has the legal effect of including the coverage required by subsection 1, and any provision of the plan that conflicts with the provisions of this section is void. 4. As used in this section: (a) 'Medical laboratory' has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 652.060. (b) 'Provider of health care' has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 629.031.
