1. 'Travel insurance' means insurance coverage for personal risks incident to planned travel, including, without limitation: (a) Interruption or cancellation of a trip or event; (b) Loss of baggage or personal effects; (c) Damages to accommodations or rental vehicles; (d) Sickness, accident, disability or death occurring during travel; (e) Emergency evacuation; (f) Repatriation of remains; or (g) Any other contractual obligation to indemnify or pay a specified amount to the traveler upon determinable contingencies related to travel that is approved by the Commissioner. 2. The term does not include: (a) Travel assistance services; (b) A cancellation fee waiver; (c) A major medical plan that provides comprehensive medical protection for a traveler on a trip lasting longer than 6 months, including, without limitation, a traveler who is working or residing overseas as an expatriate; or (d) Any other product that a person is prohibited from selling, soliciting or negotiating unless the person holds a specific license as a producer of insurance.
