Whenever it appears to the Commissioner that any insurer or any director, officer, employee or agent thereof has committed a willful violation of this chapter, the Commissioner may cause criminal proceedings to be instituted in the county in which the principal office of the insurer is located or if the insurer does not have such an office in the state then in Carson City against that insurer or the responsible director, officer, employee or agent thereof. 2. An insurer which willfully violates this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than $20,000. 3. A natural person who willfully violates this chapter is guilty of a category D felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130. (Added to NRS by 1973, 1049; A 1979, 1492; 1995, 1319)
