41:68 Unauthorized Destruction; Penalty. – All municipal records as defined in RSA 33-A:1, IV belong to the public in perpetuity and shall not be destroyed, maliciously damaged or retained by any person not entitled to keep them. Municipal records shall be destroyed only with the approval of the municipal records board established under RSA 33-A:4-a.
