§ 126-d-4

126-D:4 Definitions. – For the purposes of this chapter the following terms shall have the following meanings: I. 'Adoption assistance state' means a state which is signatory to an adoption assistance agreement in a particular case. II. 'Commissioner' means commissioner, department of health and human services. III. 'Residence state' means the state of which the child is a resident by virtue of the residence of the adoptive parents. IV. 'State' means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or a territory or possession of the United States or one administered by the United States.
