170-E:15 Operation Without a License. – Whenever the department is advised, or has reason to believe, that any person is operating a child day care agency without a license or permit, or in violation of any of the provisions of this subdivision, it may make an investigation to ascertain the facts. If it finds that such person is operating or has operated without a license or permit, or in violation of any of the provisions of this subdivision, the department shall issue by certified mail a notice informing such person of the violation and requesting that it cease operating within 24 hours of the date notice is received. The department may report the results of its investigation to the attorney general or to the appropriate county attorney for prosecution. Source. 1990, 257:8, eff. Jan. 1, 1991.
