261:136-a Use of Repairer Registration. – I. A repairer may use a repairer registration on unregistered vehicles not owned by the repairer and temporarily in the repairer's custody for transport to or from the repair facility for the purposes of repair, adjustment, reconditioning, or to install after market equipment. II. The repairer may use a repair plate on tow trucks or service vehicles, provided the vehicle is clearly marked not for hire. III. The repairer may use a supplemental repair plate on vehicles owned by the repairer and offered for sale for the sole purpose of allowing a customer to test drive the vehicle. IV. A repairer shall not make personal use of the repair plate or the supplemental repair plate. Source. 1998, 227:4, eff. Aug. 23, 1998.
