318-C:16 Representation of Governmental Entities: Stay of Action. – I. A prosecuting attorney may represent the state or a political subdivision of the state in an action brought under this chapter. II. Upon the filing of an action under this chapter, the plaintiff shall give immediate notice in writing and provide a copy of the writ to the attorney general. The attorney general shall notify the United States Department of Justice or other appropriate federal agency of such action. III. On motion by a governmental agency involved in a drug investigation or prosecution, an action brought under this chapter shall be stayed until the completion of the criminal investigation or prosecution that gave rise to the motion for a stay of the action.
