420-B:8-c Cancellation or Nonrenewal of Group Health Maintenance Organization Contracts. – No group health maintenance organization contract, authorized under this chapter, may be cancelled or nonrenewed by the health maintenance organization, except for nonpayment of premium, unless the group contract holder receives either a notice of cancellation or nonrenewal or an offer of renewal in accordance with this section. The notice of cancellation or nonrenewal or offer of renewal shall be delivered to the group contract holder or mailed to the group contract holder's last address as shown in the records of the health maintenance organization at least 45 days prior to the renewal date of the contract. Notice of cancellation for lack of participation, if permitted by the terms of the contract, shall be delivered to the group contract holder or mailed to the group contract holder's last address as shown in the records of the health maintenance organization, at least 30 days prior to the effective date of the cancellation.
