17:16L-1. Definitions 1. As used in this act: a. 'Banking institution' means any state or federally chartered bank, savings bank, or savings and loan association, including a federally chartered savings bank; b. 'Commissioner' means the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance; c. 'Deposit account' means an account in a banking institution used by the account holder for personal or family purposes, but does not include an account as defined in the federal 'Expedited Funds Availability Act,' 12 U.S.C.s.4001 et seq., which account is subject to the disclosure of funds availability policy requirements as set forth in 12 U.S.C. s.4004.
