§ 17-35-18

17:35-18. Doing business without authority prohibited No corporation or association organized under other authority than the laws of this state, for the purpose of furnishing life, sickness or accident insurance upon the assessment plan, shall do any business in this state, nor shall any person act within this state as agent in soliciting, procuring, receiving or transmitting any application for membership or insurance, in or for, or on behalf of the corporation or association, unless it is authorized to do business in this state under this article, and the agent has received a certificate of authority from the commissioner as herein provided.
