18A:6-56. Election; terms Members of the representative assembly shall be elected by their respective boards of education at the annual organization meeting. An individual so elected shall be a member of the district's board of education or the district's superintendent or chief school administrator. Should the representative cease to be a member or employee of the board of education which elected the representative, that position shall become vacant and a replacement shall be selected by that member district in a like manner to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term for which the vacating member had been elected.
