18A:66-2.2 Veteran status determined for retirement allowance. 4. The Adjutant General of the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs shall be responsible for determining whether any person seeking to be considered a 'veteran' under N.J.S.18A:66-2, for the purpose of eligibility for a veteran's retirement allowance, meets the criteria set forth therein and adjudicating an appeal from any person disputing this determination.
