27:13-10. Assistance in reconstruction of certain public roads Whenever any appropriation is made in any general or special appropriation act for the purpose of defraying all or any part of the cost of reconstructing county or municipal roads, destroyed by reason of use of such county or municipal roads by vehicles of the gross weight and load of 40,000 pounds or more and which vehicles are registered as and bear registration plates marked, 'constructor' pursuant to section 39:3-20 of the Revised Statutes, the State Highway Commissioner is empowered and directed to receive, consider and approve applications of the various counties and municipalities of this State for State assistance in the reconstruction of said public roads from the funds so appropriated.
