30:1B-6.2a Commissioner's assistance in obtaining inmate's birth certificate. 2. The Commissioner of Corrections shall offer each inmate, upon request, at least 180 days prior to release from a State correctional facility, assistance with obtaining a copy of the inmate's birth certificate, as issued by the Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics, if the inmate was born in New Jersey. The commissioner shall ensure that all inmates who were born in New Jersey are notified of their ability to obtain the commissioner's assistance in accessing their birth certificates pursuant to this section.
